It is crucial the first third of your resume—who, what, and why—is tight and crisp. Where? Your Career Path Use the heading Career Development to show that you are in this profession for the long haul and include: ¡ ¡ Employer's name and location ¡ ¡ Duration of employment Who? Your Vitals ¡ ¡ Name ¡ ¡ Contact information (phone number, email, city, state) ¡ ¡ Social media handles What? The Position Simply include the title of the position for which you are applying in big, bold letters. Use this in place of an objective since that should be in your cover letter. Why? Your Expertise A professional statement is, essentially, your resume in a single, short paragraph. Key points to include: ¡ ¡ Career objective ¡ ¡ Relevant experience ¡ ¡ Brief summary of your qualifications ¡ ¡ Sense of your work or management style Versatile Law Librarian (career objective) offering more than twenty years of leadership in school-related events and support organizations. Demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex projects (summary of qualifications). Respond to challenges with confidence, determination, and focus (management/work style).
